Reception of Loyal Companions Animal Hospital and Pet Resort

At Loyal Companions Pet Resort your dog or cat will receive extra special attention from our caring staff. If you will be traveling, your pet can lodge overnight in one of our spacious dog suites or kitty condos. There are cozy beds, special treats and one- on-one attention from our Fear-Free certified staff, Each area of the Pet Resort is equipped with state-of-the-art webcams so pet owners will be at ease knowing they can see their pets even if they are miles away. For additional peace of mind, you can have confidence knowing Dr. Vicki Petsche and staff are ready and willing to assist your pet if the need for veterinary care should arise.
Your pet will love their time here with us!  At Loyal Companions Pet Resort your dog’s lodging stay includes doggie day care.  There are many advantages to day care such as mental and social stimulation as well as exercise.  If your dog does not like play groups we will give them special one-on-one time for walks and snuggles. Your cat’s lodging includes one-on-one time to play, be brush or just to sit in the window seat to watch the birds and chipmunks at the feeder.  To help ensure an easy transition for both cats and dogs, be sure to bring along their own food and a comfort item such as favorite bedding or toy.

Doggie Day Care is the perfect solution if you are a working pet parent or have a busy schedule with your human children. Your dog can have a full or 1⁄2 day of playtime exercising in our spacious indoor and outdoor areas. We take our day care service to the next level by providing your pet with extra training in basic manners or we can work on a skill or trick at your request. We want the time spent with us to be stimulating both socially and intellectually – the same as a high quality children’s day care center. We recommend you take advantage of our bath and blowout service to keep your pet smelling clean and fresh. Loyal Companions Pet Resort…..the care and attention your pet deserves.

Lodging pets picked up Mon-Fri 4-6pm or Sat-Sun 6-7pm will incur an extra charge $27 for dogs, $20 for cats.

Grooming is vital to your dog's or cat’s well-being and comfort! Thorough grooming decreases the chance for some skin
problems and improves the pet’s overall hygiene (and smell!). Our professional grooming stylist has over 20 years of experience. A full service groom includes a bath and blow dry, eye and ear cleaning, nail clipping, external anal gland expression, brush out, and if needed a specific hair cut based on your dog’s breed standard and your choice of style. Our groomer likes to meet with every new client to discuss preferences in style.

Training Class in Loyal Companions Animal Hospital and Pet Resort
Our trainer Ali Evanson is a Karen Pryor Certified Trainer and a Fear Free Certified Trainer. Additionally she has been certified as a Trick Dog Trainer. All training at Loyal Companions is based on operant conditioning utilizing positive rewards, not dominance. Details about the training classes offered are listed below.

Puppy Socialization-$90

These classes are for puppies ideally under 4 months of age. Give your new family member the start to life they deserve. This is a great course to get them socialized to others as well as potentially scary objects in their world. We will go over basic puppy problems such as crate and house training, bite inhibition, body language and much more. This is an open enrollment format; you can enroll at any time whether you want to start week 1, 2 or 3. Just be sure to complete all 3 weeks to ensure you don’t miss any of the great topics of discussion.

Offered Tuesday 7:15-8:15p & Saturday 1:30-2:30p

Foundations of Clicker Training-$120

This 4 week course is for dogs of all ages, it is never too early and your dog is never too old to learn new skills. Whether you’re just bringing home a new puppy, an adult dog you just adopted or a dog you’ve had for years that needs a little extra help. These classes will teach you to problem solve, train your dog and build a strong bond through clicker training and positive reinforcement strategies. We will go over how to use a clicker, shaping, targeting and capturing methods. Clickers will be supplied to each student. This is an open enrollment format; you can enroll at any time whether you want to start week 1, 2 3 or 4. Just be sure to complete all 4 weeks to ensure you don’t miss any of the great topics of discussion.

Offered Thursday 7:15-8:15p & Saturday 12:15-1:15p

Special Workshops-$50 Each Topic

We will offer a variety of workshops based on different topics throughout the year. Each workshop is 2 weeks long, 1 hour each week. Topics include reliable recall, proper greeting, resource guarding, canine body language, going to your place/mat and introduction to reactivity to different stimulus.

Offered certain Sundays 12:15-1:15p

Reactive Dog Class-$250

This is a 4 week course for dogs that need a little extra help with their sensitivities. This is specialized to dogs with reactivity to other dogs and we will go over body language, impulse control and how to redirect your dog’s attention to you instead of the distraction. It is important to learn positive strategies to teach our dog how to stay under threshold so we can coexist in peace while out in public.

Offered Mondays 7:15-8:15p & Saturday 2:45-3:45p

Trick Dog Training Part 1-$90

Expand your dog’s knowledge past the basic cues and teach them some fun new tricks with this course. It is 3 weeks long and we will learn tricks like sit pretty, roll over, paw, wave and you’ll have the opportunity to come up with your own trick to teach your dog. Why trick dog training? It is a good way to mentally and physically stimulate your dog but it also helps you build the bond with your dog in a fun and positive way while expanding their behavior repertoire. Easily earn trick dog titles which are recognized by the AKC.

Offered Wednesdays 7:15-8:15p & Sundays 1:30-2:30p

Trick Dog Training Part 2-$90

This is a 3 week course to expand on our pup’s repertoire of tricks and increase your bond with your dog. We will learn take a bow, play dead, say your prayers and more. We will use methods such as shaping and capturing of natural behaviors offered by our dogs to get the polished behavior. Easily earn trick dog titles which are recognized by the AKC.
